Alphabetical Crediting
International Game Developers Association
FOR
In a successfull project, everyone contributes at multiple levels -- designers make art suggestions, producers make decision suggestions, programmers sometimes buy food for the team, etc. In short, it's impossible, without giving dozens of credits to each person, to really accurately describe anyone's contributions to the project. An alphabetical list -- as done by many of the most successful teams (Valve, Naughty Dog) -- recognizes this. A game is a team effort, and trying to define each role and match it to a specific person is neccessarily always going to be an imperfect task. Go alphabetical, and everyone gets credit equally.
AGAINST
This space is reserved for editors to hone the argument against alphabetical crediting.
