Chapter/Guide/Policies/PR Policy
International Game Developers Association
V. PR Policy
We encourage chapters to build relationships with local media and journalists to garner coverage of meetings and raise awareness of the local community. However, chapters are NOT allowed to issue news releases on behalf of IGDA. Chapters are allowed to send updates, memos, or informal announcements to local media, but the content should be limited to meeting or local event promotion (i.e., date, time, and location, etc). Members of the media should be welcome to attend chapter meetings.
Chapter organizers are NOT allowed to endorse specific products, platforms, companies, or events while representing the IGDA. Unless specifically requested by IGDA headquarters staff, chapter organizers are NOT authorized to give interviews on behalf of the IGDA. Only IGDA‐designated spokespeople are authorized to give interviews. Refer all media inquiries to Jason Della Rocca (press@igda.org).
