- New Exec, hello.
- Volunteer co-ordination – volunteer coordinator post.
- Housecleaning. Initiatives – who is heading what? What is live and what is not? Initiatives on the wiki - Writing Internships, Hiring Hall, SIG Quarterly, Library of Scriprs and Game Documents, Game Reviews, Game Writing Book (still listed as book 3), Education Outreach, Whitepaper Revisions, Surveys. What’s missing?? What should be mothballed?
- Working with other SIGs (Corvus)
- Wiki update including - FAQs for the wiki – progress report
- Quarterly - Increasing SIG visibility - IGDA magazine
- Adding more Games journalists to the SIG
- AGC brainstorming for Drew.
- Any other business
If you haven’t done so already, please can committee members RSVP (off list) and anyone with an agenda point let Andy know what they would like on the agenda (off list as well, if possible, just to minimise traffic ).
Matters Arising
Matters arising from the previous meeting, and the primary committee member associated. Minutes of the February 25, 2009 meeting featured the following discussions:
- Our core aims for this year: Get New Blood into the Industry (with the action point to create a fact sheet on the benefits of a writing intern). Continue to promote the benefits of working with a writer to the games industry (with the action point we need to find the list common statements and arguments for and against the need for writers produced for Austin GDC 2006 and put that on the website, promote it).
- GDC 2009 - Write Club — anything you need?
- GDC 2009 - Volunteer Coordinators — anything you need?
- GDC 2009 — Contact list for GDC - anything you need?
- Volunteers — round ‘em up and lets get busy in 2009
- Increasing SIG visibility - IGDA magazine
- Quarterly
- FAQs for the wiki — following on the last meeting could we look at producing FAQs on manual writing? Review and critique writing?
- Website developments and the Wiki - following on the last meeting could we look at adding manual, Review and critique samples to the script library? How can make the information there more accessible? A number of documents i.e. common statements and arguments against the need for writers, have gone missing…
