July 2007 Updates
General
- Updated to version 1.10 of MediaWiki, the software behind this wiki
- Old version was 1.4 -- this was a major boost as MediaWiki has become much more stable and many great new extensions can now be installed
- URLs are now much shorter and cleaner
- Eliminated the "index.php?title=" from URLs
Searching, browsing, and tracking
- Recent changes page can now be filtered by categories
- Hierarchical category display
- When looking at a category's page, sub-categories are now displayed as a hierarchy (ala Wikipedia)
Extensions
Look and feel
- The IGDA logo is now used as favicon for the wiki
- Very helpful for tabbed browsing
- A small "w" has been added the lower-right corner to distinguish pages from the main IGDA site from pages from the wiki
User privileges and customization
- User-specific JavaScript is now allowed
- User:Username/monobook.js (where Username is your username) can now be edited to allow users to add any number of JavaScript-driven client-side tools to help them interact with the wiki
