Region gaming history
Brief history of the gaming culture and works produced in the region.
Region rating organisations
PEGI
The Pan European Game Information organisation rates games in the majority of Europe. It is an optional, industry-based rating service. In each country, there is usually a responsible organisation that rates games produced in that country (or ones submitted to it).
In the UK, this is the Video Standards Council.
BBFC
The British Board of Film Classification will rate games under certain conditions, under the Video Recordings Act 1984, although any content can be submitted to them even if it doesn't fall within their guidelines.
Region laws
The main law for rating games in the UK is the Video Recordings Act 1984, which involves the BBFC as the rating body for certain game releases. Any game that falls under the BBFC, but is refused classification, is illegal to sell.
Region Culture
Detail important culture things in the region (wikipedia links recommended). What things are rated more highly or lowly in the region, and why. This would be best written by someone in the country, possibly as original research since there is not much official research on culture and games in all countries.
