About

Acagamics e.V. is the local IGDA Students Game Development Club at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg. It was founded by Students of this university and of the university of applied sciences Magdeburg/Stendal in 2005.

Since March 2012 we are a "Verein" (e.V. = eingetragener Verein). This is very common form of clubs in Germany where the club has some special rights and duties towards the state. As a non-profit organization we are free from any taxes but beholden to use all our funds for public utility.

The primary goals of the club are:

• build & offer a platform for students interested in game development and industry
• help students to realize game concepts in a team or group
• create new games together
• organize interesting presentations & talks

Projects & Lectures

Mostly students work on them in their free time - but recently also a professor gives a lecture in our name. Because of our close collaboration with the university students can be graduated in some of the projects and lectures for university degrees. Through the projects and lectures the students are able to improve their knowledge, skills and teamwork as well as creating content for their protfolio.
