Responsible for managing scripting staff and determining overall task division and scripting strategy. A scripter is a designer or high-level programmer that strictly uses the game engine’s scripting language to set up in-game events, such as patrols, ambushes, doors opening and closing, etc. Scripting is usually a “simpler form†of programming using a scripting language (like Python or Lua). Sometimes scripts are used to create the “rules†for “levelsâ€, sometimes they are used to make AI. Use of a scripter on staff is basically a way of allowing non-programmers or non-expert-programmers to create procedural content, or to allow programmers to create content-driven and non-platform-dependent code.
