As "Head of Special Ops" for The Strategery Group (pronounced stru-tee-jur-ee) Jay helps talented game studios with brand and business development.
Jay was previously Director of Business Development, Marketing Director and Evangelist for GarageGames, an online tool developer and game publisher. As a fervent serial entrepreneur, Jay has been the Marketing Director for a computer programming magazine, Sales and Marketing Director for an educational software distributor, and President of an advertising and design firm. Jay started in the game industry with "The Even More Incredible Machine!," championing it in the educational arena. Later, he worked to bring all of the Sierra educational games into the K-12 channel and successfully launched category-creator "Driver's Education '98." Jay joined the GarageGames' team in 2002 when they were five guys crammed into a one room office. When he left, they were a team of more than thirty programmers, artists and marketers. While at GarageGames, he launched IndieGamesCon, oversaw the online publishing of independent games and worked to establish Torque as the game engine platform of choice for independent game developers.
